Terms of Sale

These terms apply to everything offered on this site. They are written around one fact that makes this shop different from most: every piece is made once.

One of one

Each original is a single physical object. When it is sold it is gone, and it is never reproduced as an identical piece. A related design may be commissioned later, but it will be made as a new one-of-a-kind work, not as a copy. Pieces marked Collected are shown as a record of the house's work and are not for sale at any price.

Reserving a piece

Submitting an acquisition request places a 48-hour hold on the piece and removes it from public availability immediately, so that nobody else can request it while the atelier considers yours.

• A request is not a purchase and does not oblige you to buy.
• The atelier may accept or decline any request at its discretion.
• If the hold expires without a decision, the piece returns to the shop automatically.
• You may withdraw a request at any time before you pay.

Prices and payment

Prices are shown in US dollars. A piece shown as Price on request has no published price and cannot be bought until one is set.

Payment is taken by Square on Square's own secure checkout. Your card details are given to Square directly; this website never sees or stores them. For commissions and made-to-measure work the atelier may instead send a private invoice after discussing your requirements.

Made to your measurements

Garments are finished to the measurements you supply. Please check them carefully: a piece cut to figures given in error cannot always be recut. If you are unsure, ask for a fitting consultation before committing.

Delivery

DELIVERY METHOD, TIMESCALES, DESTINATIONS AND COSTS NEEDED

Risk in a piece passes to you on delivery. Where a commission is being made for you, the atelier will give an estimated completion date when your request is accepted.

Cancellation and returns

Because each piece is unique and garments are finished to your own measurements, work made or altered to your specification is not returnable unless it is faulty or not as described. This does not affect your legal rights in respect of faulty goods.

CONFIRM RETURN WINDOW FOR UNALTERED, READY-MADE PIECES SUCH AS JEWELLERY

If a piece arrives damaged or is not as described, write to the atelier within a reasonable period and it will be repaired, replaced where possible, or refunded.

Certificates and provenance

Original pieces are supplied with a certificate recording the piece and its owner. Please keep it: it is the record of the work's provenance.

Images

Photographs show the actual piece. Colour reproduction varies between screens, and hand-worked detail varies naturally within a single piece; this is a property of hand-making and not a fault.

Intellectual property

All designs, photographs and text on this site belong to McKenzie Kreations. Buying a piece transfers ownership of that object; it does not transfer any right to reproduce the design.
